Avril Lavigne touring China

Avril Lavigne

New Delhi (ANI): Canadian pop singer Avril Lavigne will be touring China for her ‘The Best Damn Tour’ concerts. The 23-year-old singer will play at Guangzhou at first, followed by other mainland cities like Shanghai, Beijing and Chongqing. The singer’s 90-minute concert is expected to include such hits as ‘Girlfriend, Innocence, and Forgotten’.

According to the China Daily, the singer will probably celebrate her 24th birthday on September 27 in Guangzhou. Lavigne had rocked Shanghai last July.

I ought to rally some local support once I get to Chongqing and start training my tomato-throw-arm. Didn’t she insult some people back in july for saying something about Tibet or am I mistaking her for someone else? Should look it up some time. I’m pretty sure there was some twat yapping about it on stage. Anyway, this thrilling article was borrowed from this page.

Got Chinese legal questions? New site gives free answers

August 29, 2008

Als ik dit had geweten voor Chinees Recht… Alhoewel, het bestond toen waarschijnlijk gewoon nog niet. Toch de moeite waard eens te bekijken als ge met legal issues zit :p

Ryan on the Lost Laowai China Blog added this today:

I just stumbled across a new Web site dishing out answers to all your China legal questions – for free!

The rather IM-ishly named 15minutes4u.com believes that most legal questions us foreigners have about China could be answered in under 15 minutes of a legal professional’s time and they are striving to deliver just such advice – and did I mention it’s free?

The questions are answered by “a group of experienced legal professionals practiced or law students studied in China, US or other jurisdictions.” [sic – because I can’t really make sense of it]. Questions seem to range from the expected trade/business law queries to advice for ESL teachers done wrong.

China Universities

Te lezen op chinaSMACK:

Earlier this week, some Chinese noticed a strange piece of news on Tsinghua University’s website:

“Yesterday afternoon, Tsinghua University principal Mr. Gu Binglin expressed his worries about current university education conditions during an interview with a student reporter. He indicated straightforwardly that the university education system is in effect “pouring shit into the students minds.”

[…] “He further indicated that some 80% of the student first entering college are full of will and determination to study diligently, but under the the grinding and corrosion of their four year university career, he is afraid not even 20% can maintain this determination up until graduation. Skipping class, cheating on tests are already regarded by many students as par for the course. The original goal and motivation for going to college to gain knowledge becomes purely just get a diploma. Moreover, those students who try their best and take their studies seriously, their learning abilities and creativity are actually being obliterated. their learning capability and innovation ability are actually gradually being destroyed. If this kind of situation continues, the university’s ultimate finished product will be soul-less zombies.”

Dit is vrij interessant… Als het schoolsysteem daar zo in mekaar zit, is er misschien toch nog een gaatje voor een paar Belgische lowlifes die op een of ander diploma hopen. XD Toch maar studeren voor de zekerheid.

This is pretty interesting… There might be a shred of hope for a couple of Belgian lowlifes hoping to get a degree. XD Still gonna study hard though, to be on the safe side.
